Wednesday, April 30

"Zero Waste” is a philosophy and design principle that goes beyond recycling to take a far-reaching systems approach to the flow of resources and waste through society. Sunnyvale’s City Council will be considering Zero Waste policy options in 2008.

The City’s Recycling/Solid Waste staff will hold an informational meeting, which will include a review of Zero Waste policies and waste reduction/recycling programs from other cities, in order to engage business and residential community members in a discussion on the options that would best fit our community.

An online input form will also be available by April 30 on the Recycling Program's zero waste study issue webpage to allow those that are unable to attend the community discussion to provide comments.
